WOW! There are absolutely no words to describe my excitement
for the EBA at, and now following the ADBA convention. We received 24 new memberships over the
weekend. The Board cannot thank you
enough for this support. As for the live
auction on Saturday night, everyone in attendance stepped up and made for a
very successful event raising a total of $2794.
The generosity of the incredible cherished donated items which came
rolling in when I once thought our auction would not even be able to take place
was ….AMAZING! And, as for the auction
itself, how could we have had an evening of entertainment without our
auctioneer, James Rogers, who has always been about promoting and preserving
our dogs. When there is a need, he is
there. He came through for us and the
dogs once again on Saturday night! The
auction was phenomenal in every possible way.
As was brought to my attention at the ADBA convention, (thank
you Brandon Phillips) the House and Senate bills in Arizona regarding
warrantless search and seizure of personal property regarding pets have stalled
in their respective legislative committees and are expected to die in committee. The word from Kim Krohn, EBA Past President,
is that these bills do pop up from time to time. This is why it is so important for everyone to
know what is being proposed in your state and county. A handful of us volunteers who run this
Association can’t be everywhere. Animal
Rights organizations will continue to throw these bills out there across the
country hoping one day one will stick.
We need your ears to the ground at all times.
A very special thank you goes out to Richard Stratton, the
Georgia APBTC and the Mid Florida APBTA clubs for their generous cash donations
in support of the efforts of the Endangered Breeds Association.
We are going to keep on, keeping on……there is no quit.
